Dr. Richard Dinon
Owner / Veterinarian
Dr. Richard Dinon grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and began to show a distinct passion for veterinary medicine at the age of 14. Early on, a young Richard Dinon sat in amazement as his family veterinarian examined his family’s chocolate Lab, Beau, trying to find the cause for his sudden onset of seizures. His passion was so evident, that the veterinarian offered him a job to help nurture that passion. From that point on, Dr. Richard continually worked in animal hospitals. Starting as a kennel boy, he worked his way up to veterinary technician and eventually was accepted to the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine after only three years of undergraduate studies. Those years of experience in the veterinary field prior to becoming a veterinarian have been paramount to Dr. Richard’s ability to understand his patients and their needs.
Dr. Richard has practiced in Pinellas County since his graduation in 2002 and became the owner of Loving Care Animal Hospital in 2009. Dr. Richard is a member of the Florida Veterinary Medical Association, Pinellas County Veterinary Medical Society, and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Since graduating, he has attended extensive continuing education courses in internal medicine, surgery, and dermatology as well as completing advanced, specialized training in ultrasonography and ultrasound-assisted diagnostic procedures such as soft tissue biopsies and cytologies.
Dr. Richard shares his home with Penny, a hyper Vizsla, a goofy Italian Greyhound named Nas, and two lazy fat cats, Cotton and Ebony. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as kayaking and fishing. Most Sundays off, Dr. Richard is exploring the underwater caves and karst system of Florida’s aquifer as a certified cave diver.
